In the series premiere of Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, viewers witnessed Dahmer’s imminent arrest; after 32-year-old Tracy Edwards (Sean Jay Brown), escapes from Dahmer’s apartment and summons two cops, Robert Root (Mac Brandt) and Rolf Mueller (Grant Harvey), the trio go to the apartment to investigate.

There, Mueller enters Dahmer’s room and discovers a nightstand filled with Polaroid photographs, many of which show naked bodies in various stages of dismemberment. Shocked by the discovery, Mueller walks into the room to show his colleague the Polaroids and says, “That’s the real thing.”
Jeffrey Dahmer’s story is painful enough, but seeing the actual crime scene and the Polaroids he took made me want to lie.
According to the book The Man Who Couldn’t Kill Enough by Ann E. Schwartz, posted on truTV, one of the Polaroids “showed a human head, flesh still intact, lying on a shell.” The second photo “shows the victim cut from the neck to the groin, like a deer stripped after death.” Other Polaroids show Dahmer performing sexual acts on dead bodies.
According to a study published in 1994 in the American Journal of Forensic Medicine and Pathology, Dahmer tended to photograph significant body parts and naked corpses “in sexually suggestive poses” because he “wanted to keep them as souvenirs to go with him.”

Those who watched the Netflix miniseries then took to social media to share their thoughts on Dahmer’s chilling Polaroid photos and how they wish Hollywood would stop glorifying real-life serial killers in movies and TV shows.
“Jeffrey Dahmer’s content is something I can’t watch,” one person wrote on Twitter. “I’m disgusted by everything about this guy and I really don’t like Netflix promoting and profiting from weird, bizarre TV shows.
