Since his arrest in July 1991, Dahmer, then 31, has become one of the most notorious serial killers in US history. A former chocolate factory worker has admitted to killing and dismembering 17 young men and boys between 1978 and 1991, including one at his childhood home in Ohio.
FBI records show Dahmer told detectives he “didn’t want to kill, but wanted to create ‘love slaves,’ or zombies, who would do whatever (he) wanted.”
Dahmer admitted to having sex with the bodies of some of his victims, as well as cannibalizing some body parts and preserving others. He was eventually caught because his last victim, Tracy Edwards, was able to escape Dahmer’s apartment and run for help, handcuffs hanging from one wrist.
After being found guilty of 15 murders in Milwaukee, Dahmer’s sanity was challenged. He was found unharmed and sentenced to 15 years in prison.

“DAHMER – Monster. According to Variety, the limited series of 10 episodes is told mainly from the perspective of the victims and their families.
“(The series) will also explore the inaction of the Wisconsin police during the murder investigation, which allowed Dahmer to continue his killing spree,” Variety reported.
Dahmer is played by Evan Peters of “American Horror Story.” The director of the series is Ryan Murphy.
The magazine received mixed reviews, including criticism from family members of some of the victims. The cousin of the victim Errol Lindsey wrote on social networks that he did not watch the series, which, according to him, caused new pain to the family.

Dahmer later told detectives that he committed his first murder three weeks after graduating from high school in Bath Township, Ohio. His youth was not particularly happy, and at 14, the quiet and brooding boy began to turn to beer and hard liquor to solve his problems.
He also began dismembering dead animals he found in his neighborhood and, realizing he was gay, had violent sexual fantasies involving other boys.

Billy Capshaw, who was buried with Dahmer during his service in the US Army, described the sober Dahmer as “like a doctor I would go see who would comfort you and smile a lot.” He changed when he drank, Capshaw told The Associated Press in 1991.
“When I first saw him like that, I ran away from him,” Capshaw said. “I really knew he would hurt me if he ever caught me.”
On June 18, 1978, 18-year-old Dahmer picked up 18-year-old hitchhiker Steven Mark Hicks of Coventry, Ohio and lured him to his family’s home with the promise of beer. Dahmer’s parents had separated at the time, and his father was out of town on business, leaving the teenager at home.
“I was coming back from the mall in ’78,” Dahmer said. “I fantasized about picking up a hitchhiker, driving him home, and having complete dominance and control over him.”
What Happened To Jeffrey Dahmer?
Dahmer had hoped to have sex with Hicks that night, but after drinking for a while, Hicks wanted to leave. Dahmer hit him with a 10-pound dumbbell, then choked him with a dumbbell bar.
He sexually assaulted Hicks’ body, and the next day dismembered her in the basement and buried the body parts in the yard. A few weeks later, he took the remains and used acid to dissolve Hicks’ flesh from the bones.
He crushed the bones and scattered them behind his family’s house. Rinse the liquid meat in the bath.
“Dahmer advised that he should be caught after the first murder … but the police were not thorough,” the FBI said.

Dahmer said he had Hicks’ dismembered body in his car the night of the murder when police pulled him over for a minor traffic violation.
“Dahmer stated that two police officers ordered him out of the vehicle and shined their flashlights into his vehicle and saw the trash bag,” the report states. “(They) asked Dahmer what was in the bag and how bad it smelled.
Dahmer told officers he was taking an old piece of trash to the city dump. They failed to search the bag and let Dahmer drive away after citing him for a traffic violation.
Terrified by his narrow escape, Dahmer did not kill again for nearly a decade. During this time, he joined the army and was stationed in Germany.
